The GT was created to allow Ford to return to the track in the Grand Touring category. Entered for the first time in Le Mans in 2016 (year of the 50th anniversary of Ford's first victory), the GT has been fielded in a works program lasting four years, but for enthusiasts the legacy remains with the road version, which is practically a racing car only slightly mitigated. Designed without compromise, the road Ford GT has a 3497cc and 656 horsepower biturbo V6 engine ensuring performances hardly comparable to other production GTs. The GT was built in 500 exemplars.
